Government

The City of O’Donnell Council is made up of the Mayor and five City Council members. The Mayor is elected at large for a two-year term and council members are elected to represent residents for two-year terms. The terms are staggered so that two council members are elected in odd years and three in even years. The City of O’Donnell in a Type A General Law City. A general law city looks to the state constitution and state statutes to govern the City. The City of O’Donnell has a Council-Mayor form of government. The City Council is the policy making body of the city government, exercising those powers granted by State law, and the State Constitution. The City Council normally meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p..m.  Meetings are held at City Hall located at 615 8th Street, O’Donnell, TX 79351.
